Bulls Acquire DeRozan in Deal with the Spurs

Bulls Giving up Caruso and Possibly More in Trades

Chicago, IL - The Chicago Bulls have acquired DeMar DeRozan from the San Antonio Spurs in a sign-and-trade deal. DeRozan will sign a three-year, $85 million contract with the Bulls when the NBA's free agency period begins on August 2nd.

In order to acquire DeRozan, the Bulls are sending forward Alex Caruso to the Spurs. The Bulls may also be sending other players to the Spurs, but those details have not been finalized.

DeRozan is a four-time All-Star who averaged 21.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game for the Spurs last season. He is a versatile player who can score from anywhere on the court.

The Bulls are hoping that DeRozan can help them take the next step and contend for a championship. They missed the playoffs last season, but they have a young and talented team.
