France Gall Dies at 70

The French pop icon passed away after a two-year battle with cancer.

Isabelle Geneviève Marie Anne Gall, known professionally as France Gall, was a French yé-yé and pop singer who released 17 studio albums, eight live albums, and 11 compilation albums throughout her career. She rose to fame in the 1960s with her hit singles "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" and "Les Sucettes," and went on to achieve international success with songs like "La Vie en rose" and "Il jouait du piano debout." Gall was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, and passed away on January 7, 2018 at the age of 70.
