Early Life and Career

Chase Andrew Budinger was born on May 22, 1988, in La Jolla, California. He began playing basketball at an early age and quickly gained attention for his athleticism and shooting ability. Budinger played for the University of Arizona from 2006 to 2009, where he was named a first-team All-Pac-10 selection and the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2009.

NBA Career

Budinger was drafted 44th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2009 NBA Draft. He spent three seasons with the Pistons before being traded to the Houston Rockets in 2012. With the Rockets, Budinger emerged as a valuable role player, averaging 10.3 points per game in the 2013-14 season. After two more seasons with the Rockets, Budinger signed with the Indiana Pacers in 2015. However, he only played 37 games for the Pacers before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets in 2016. Budinger spent two seasons with the Nets, averaging 6.5 points per game.

Career Stats

Over the course of his NBA career, Budinger played in 562 regular season games and averaged 8.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He shot 44.0% from the field and 35.4% from three-point range. Budinger also played in 32 playoff games, averaging 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Beach Volleyball Career

After retiring from the NBA in 2017, Budinger turned his attention to beach volleyball. He partnered with Casey Patterson and quickly established himself as one of the top teams on the AVP circuit. Budinger and Patterson represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where they finished in 17th place.

Personal Life

Budinger is married to Nicole Lynn and they have two children. He is also an active philanthropist and has worked with several charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Special Olympics.
